Endocrinologist
The Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism of the University of Arkansas for Medical
Sciences (UAMS) in Little Rock is seeking to hire a clinical endocrinologist, at the assistant or
associate professor level (clinician/educator pathway). This position permits one to practice
state of the art endocrinology in a stimulating academic environment that includes other
outstanding clinical and basic scientist faculty members of the Division and many trainees.
The Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism is a part of the Department of Internal
Medicine in the College of Medicine. Clinical faculty attend to the needs of patients with a
variety of endocrine and metabolic problems, provide subspecialty training for physicians
interested in diabetes, endocrinology, and metabolism; and conduct research in bone and
mineral metabolism, osteoporosis, diabetes, obesity, and lipids. This academically strong
Division has a faculty of 8 clinicians, 8 basic scientists, 4 clinical fellows and several
postdoctoral research fellows and graduate students.

The successful candidate’s time allocation will be distributed between the ambulatory clinics
and the inpatient consult service. On call duties for holidays and the weekends are distributed
equally among all members of the clinical faculty.

The endocrinology outpatient clinics are staffed by dedicated endocrinology nurses, medical
assistants, an advanced practice partner, and a dietician/diabetes educator. The
EPIC/MyChart electronic record program used at UAMS greatly facilitates patient
communication as an increasing number of patients use this online option.

J1 waivers are not available.
