The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare and academic medicine, is seeking a dynamic, Board Certified Geriatric Physician or a Board Certified Family Medicine Physician with a CAQ/Fellowship in Geriatrics for a full time faculty position in the UAMS South Central Family Medicine Residency Program in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Responsibilities include direct patient care, teaching residents/medical students in a tertiary hospital setting, Patient Centered Family Medicine Clinics and assisting with curriculum development and geriatric patient program.
The UAMS South Central Family Medicine Residency Program, the oldest Regional Programs Family Medicine Residency Program in the state, is one of six sister UAMS Family Medicine Residency Programs located throughout the state and operating under the Regional Programs Division of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, located in Little Rock, Arkansas. UAMS South Central has the broad support of both hospital-based and community-based physicians in South Arkansas and the main campus in Little Rock. UAMS South Central’s sponsoring institution, Jefferson Regional Medical Center is a 425 bed community based tertiary medical center located in the historic port city of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, which is a medium-sized city with suburban surroundings 39 miles south of the capital of Arkansas, Little Rock. Pine Bluff is served by Grider Field Regional Airport in Pine Bluff and Clinton National Airport in Little Rock.
- Must have successfully graduated from an accredited Family Medicine Residency Program and must have satisfactorily completed an ACGME-accredited fellowship training program in Geriatric Medicine and obtained a CAQ from the ABFM or successfully graduated from an accredited Internal Medicine program with a Geriatric Specialty.
- Must be Board Certified in Family Medicine with the ABFM with Geriatric CAQ and/or Internal Medicine-Geriatrics with the ABIM.
- Must have or be able to obtain an Arkansas medical license
- Must be able to obtain a DEA license
